I am a Registered Nursing Officer at Sri Lanka Nursing Council. As a Nursing Officer, I will bring five years of experience at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children. I have assisted numerous types of surgeries and recovering patients undergoing general, orthopedic, endoscopic, spinal, neuro, and plastic surgeries. My problem-solving skills, communication skills, Interpersonal skills, strong Public Relations skills, and multitasking skills can help to the successful delivery of related works. As a quick learner, I will grab anything new in my scope and apply it on the ground efficiently and effectively. I have been working in the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and I am excited to get an opportunity to work in your country. <\/p>\n
After completing my Advanced level studies in the Science stream including BioScience, Chemistry, and Physics, I completed a Diploma in Computer Science at the Data Information bureau, Kandy, Sri Lanka. Also, I successfully completed the extension course in English for professionals at the Department of English Languages, University of Peradeniya.<\/p>\n
I was selected for the Nurses Training School, Kandy, and my main nursing training as a student nurse at the National Hospital, Kandy, Sri Lanka.
\nWhile I\u2019m studying at the Nursing Training School, Kandy, I got several training opportunities. First, one-month training at the National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda, Sri Lanka, and there I covered all the aspects of caring for a psychiatric patient. Also, I got the opportunity of a one-month field visit to the Gannoruwa, Kandy area to develop aspects of community health of nursing. I used those opportunities to improve and sharpen my theoretical knowledge, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills. <\/p>\n
After completing my diploma in Nursing, I joined a Major Hospital in Sri Lanka, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children as a Nursing officer I was responsible for Assisting surgeons and recovering patients, responsible for patients and patient’s safety, specialized duties in the pediatric theater- Nursing care for the patients who are undergoing surgical interventions and overseeing the maintenance, and sterilization of the theater supplies and equipment, There I am spending most of the time providing professional support and assistance to multiple surgeons with my duties as required, preparing patients for surgeries and other medical procedures and developing customized treatment plans, I educate the patient and family members on various information and follow up care with the health education, management of emergency drug trolley, and basic life support, etc. Also, I got the skills for handling laparoscopic, endoscopic, and general surgery instruments and systems. <\/p>\n
While I am engaging with my work, I got numerous training programs related to my career. I got two weeks of training regarding Neuro Surgeries at the National Hospital of Colombo, Sri Lanka, which was highly useful and affected to the practice of Neuro surgeries at my current working station, Lady Ridgeway Hospital. Also, I got a Surgical Drill Course at the Orthopedic Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with AESCULAP academy. I got an AO Alliance Course regarding basic principles of fracture management for operating room personnel. I am currently planning to take the IELTS examination which is aiding to prove my English knowledge abilities.<\/p>\n
Last but not least, I am a focused, detailed oriented, and accuracy focusing person, especially in stressful working situations.
