I am Sapumal Walisundara, a graduate of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa. I have 2 years and 6 months of experience in electrical engineering designing, installation, testing, operation and maintenance. I am pleased to be applying for the Electrical Engineer/Mechanic position at your company.

I am currently(from 2021 August) working as Electrical Engineer at National Water Supply and Drainage Board. During this period, I am handling all M&E operations and maintenance works of all water treatment plants in Polonnaruwa Region and consulting M&E works of 2 complete ongoing water treatment plants. (Laggala New Town Water Supply Project (5000m3/day) and Wilgamuwa Water Supply Project(3000m3/day))

I have worked as the MEP coordinating Engineer at ACCESS Foresight Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd from 2020 November to 2021 August. (Netherland funded Sri Lanka Nothern Hospital Drive Project) I coordinated all site-level building services scope(including electrical) in four hospitals in the northern province. (Vavuniya District General Hospital, Mankulam Base hospital, Kilinochchi District Hospital, and Point Pedro Base Hospital.)

My internship program was at the Resource Management Associates (Pvt.) Ltd. And under their supervision, I was able to attend many electrical installation and power and energy-related projects. In there, I have designed and familiarized myself with electrical engineering drawings, renewable energy applications, and energy audits. In my training at Ceylon Electricity Board and Lanka Electricity Company (Pvt.) Ltd., I have familiarized myself with various aspects of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. In my final year project, I have optimized the communication and control mechanisms of a small-scale microgrid, and the concept was implemented physically. I also have done several projects related to automation and IoT during my university period.

I have demonstrated outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills during both my school and academic career. Recently I have served as the chairman of the IEEE Student Branch of University of Moratuwa and was awarded for doing the most outstanding student activity in 2019. (Darrel Chong Award) Also, I have actively worked in several clubs including Rotaract Club, IESL, IET, and EESoc. I also achieved the black belt in Karate during my school.

I am confident that my knowledge and experience in electrical engineering with my electrical installation and design skills qualify me to apply for this job. Also, I believe my expert communication, Teamwork, and social skills can be put to better use in this position.
