Dear Hiring Manager ,

I would love to fill the open salesperson position at American Furniture Factory that I read about in today’s classifieds. I have seven years of sales experience under my belt working in car sales and would like to bring my skills to the furniture industry. I have excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to succeed and I regularly beat all set sales goals.

I believe the best method to make sales is not to be pushy or slick, but rather highlight the best features of the product being sold. In car sales, I chat with people prior to showing cars to them and then pick models to show individuals according to what they have stated they need or want. By carefully matching customers to vehicles in this way, my sales have remained consistently above goals.

I could bring the same care as a salesperson in furniture. I would function as an assistant to the shopper to help them pick the best furniture for them. My great social skills make customers want to purchase.
